30 G EIDE with win 98.

I have a PC with a 30 G EIDE disk which has Win 98 installed.
I was not able to install Redhat 6.1 because it cannot see the disk.

I already used fdisk in Window98 to remove the one big partition and
created a small primary partition which gave the same result.

Anyone see this problem and know a solution to it?
