The tool you want requires a packet-writing interface to the device. A
developer at SuSE Labs is working on such a thing for the 2.4 kernel,
but it is currently in 0.2, and as such is unusable. If you want to
find out more about this project, check http://freshmeat.net/ and search
for packet-cd.
