The program that you are referring to is DirectCD. There is an option in
this program to complete the CD so that it can be read by other systems.
Once you do this, it should be readable from Linux.

Adaptec ships a program which allows one to use a CD-RW as a big
floppy disk. It can be read and written to by explorer, e.g. Is there
a way to use these CD-RW's created by the adaptec program in linux?
Basically I want to be able to easily move files back and forth
between the CD-RW and the hard disk. It is not sufficient to keep
created massive iso files.
Any ideas?
