RE: X Prob in Resolution?

Easiest way that I have found for this is to modify "/etc/X11/XF86Config"
with a text editor such as "pico" and then near the bottom of the file you
will find an entry for your monitor and a line listing valid modes. X takes
the first mode that it finds in this list with a match. By default the list
goes from small resolutions to large. Thus 640x480 is the first one it
finds. I suggest removing all resolutions but the one(s) you wish to use.

Subject: X Prob in Resolution?

I did a custom install of 6.2 (Printer support, X, GNOME, Networked
workstation, that's it). No matter what I tell the X configurator, it
will only do 640x480. Is there a place I can "force" the X server to
start at 1024x768? The monitor and PC were both doing this fine under
Win95. Help?
