Nabeel
See below...
BTW it is probably better to email the install list rather than me so other
people with better skills can also reply. I know about RH6.0 but no other
versions. I assume that 6.1 is similar to 6.0 but have NO idea what happened
in the 5.x versions...

Ok. I meant that you need read permissions. 004 would probably be
sufficient! 755 is fine.

Errr, Umm, Ok I forgot something. I was going to send a follow up post but
never got around to it... Do the following:
Add "/mnt/cdrom" to the file /etc/exports
run the commant "exportfs -av" as root. It should at least say "exporting
:/mnt/cdrom"
I don't know anything about your NIC but if Debian liked it I'm not going to
argue! Are there any default options?

The error is probably to do with my omission above. It tells NFS what it is
allowed to export to the outside world. Other things to check are:
/mnt/cdrom permissions AFTER you have mounted the cdrom
that nfs is running. Type "/etc/rc.d/init.d/nfs status". If it doesn't say
helpful things this may be the problem.

Good luck. Let me know how the FTP thing went. The docs are usually very
good.
Cheers
