As with any such, "Do I need to recompile my kernel?" question,
it depends on how your current kernel was configured.

I think RH supports PCMCIA in their stock kernel, but you
are always welcome to compile your own anyway.  You only need
support PCMCIA--the individual cards are not a kernel-level
option, but handled by PCMCIA socket services.
