My Sendail 8.9.3 doesn't reject spammers :-(

Greetings everyone,
I use fetchmail (RH6.0) to get my mail from my pop servers. And to reject
spammers, I editted the etc/mail/deny and added "cybergold.com REJECT"
without the quotes and then I typed "makemap hash deny <deny" and then I
rebooted and then to check if it is working I sent a message as
"weasel cybergold com" to my address at gmx.net. But fetchmail retreived
it and delivered it to my local smtp server (sendmail) without any
rejection whatever :-(

However cybergold.com _is_ indeed marked as a rejected address as
linuxconf shows that it is a rejected address..

What could be hapeenning?
