Ok, the problem looks like you have no physical port connected to the
kernel. Check the file /etc/conf.modules and see to it that you have
the line:
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
in it. If it wasn't in there, put it in. Then run printtool again.
Delete your existing printer and make a new local printer. This time it
should report up that you have a parallel port, probably /dev/lp0. If
it doesn't, then we have other work to do.
