Dual Boot Problems

I am trying to install both Win98 and RH 6.1 on a 27gig hard
drive. I want to have 20gigs for Win98 and 7 for linux stuff. So far, I
cant do anything at all. After multiple failures trying to install both
at the same time, I tried to delete all partitions and let linux do what
it wanted to set things... intending to try setting up ONLY linux. I got
the same error that I had many times before, the LI then nothing error on
boot. Does anyone have a comprehensive howto on this? Everything I have
found so far has been pretty weak. I suspect something in bios at this
point, in the way the hard drive is detected (its set to auto right
now) but changing this didnt help anything.

Maybe someone could take a moment to show an example partition set that
would work (from linux fdisk) with a machine as mine described below?

If anyone can help me with this I would be greatly appreciative!!

What I need:
20gig Win98
7gig Linux
on same drive

My machine is a pIII 600 with 256megs of ram
27gig seagate HD
Diamond Viper 770 ultra
HD is autodetected LBA in bios
