I agree that one must use the 3Com Dos configuration program to set the IRQ and
base io address as well as disable PNP. Even taking this step has not helped
eliminate our problem. I see that someone had this problem with a particular
BIOS but not with another. We've had problems configuring the 3C509 for RH6.1 on
several different computers some with Award and some with AMI BIOSs.
Thanks so much for the input. The department tech is going to give the
suggestion with the insmod after boot a try.
