implementing bootp

I would like to implement bootp on a remote site which has a number of
printers having jetdirects.  I tried to search the HOW-TO's but I
couldn't seem to find anything re implementation of bootp on linux.
Does anyone know of a howto doc and where i can find it?  Or does anyone
have any experience with bootp?
