I had the same learning experience with this card. Not being satisfied
with that
I waited a few months, bought a new monitor and put myself through the
same torture all
over again, compounded with the knowledge that I "ought to remember how
I did it before."
I did get the card to work with Quake II and can play the game though
the save option seems
not to work well. I have been able to use different resolutions also,
by following the
manual directions (pages 8,9). I can't say I understand yet exactly how
they work. As I
understand it from the XFree86 notes, even for 3.3.6, hardware accel for
this card is still
not supported but they are working on it. I did not see in the release
notes for 4.0 that it
is supported yet. Richard
