Re: New video card?



Actually I did download the new 4.0 version, hoping it would have the
right stuff.  Note 2.13.6 in the 
release notes states it is not yet accelerated but is planned for a
future release.  An earlier note 
says several 3dfx cards are ok in this release, but not all yet. 
Earlier note also suggests that second
quarter 2000 may be a time to look for this ability.  The introductory
notes regarding beta quality, not
maybe quite stable yet, and so on, while intended to be informative were
more scary to me.  Maybe soon I will
set up a second box to play with.  They suggest 3.3.6 as the most
currently stable.  And I don't know enough
yet to effectively trouble-shoot.  Only enough shoot myself in the foot
and get in deeper trouble.  On the
other hand, my linux system is up, running, and used daily for more than
just games.  Richard
