I am having problems compiling Red Hat kernels with all the patches and
initrd stuff right.
Problem: I need SHMMAX set to 0x8000000 (for installing Oracle).
Solution (doesn't work): I install kernel-2.2.14-5.0.src.rpm. I untar
linux-2.2.14.tar.gz, change the SHMMAX setting, and then retar
linux-2.2.14.tar.gz. I build by own kernel RPM (this takes a LONG
time!), and install it, and rerun lilo.
New problem: My root RAID won't mount.
How in the world do I recompile my kernel in Red Hat while keeping all
the RAID modules in the right places to run everything the Red Hat Way?
