ok
this one is really strange
come to think of it, these two things are really strange
not only do i have problems with my bash shell
but when I'm root and i do a startx i go into a window manager (i believe sawfish) and things look fine
i go into the windowmanager as my non-root user (aaron), and things look a little wavy
ive' changed the settings and i looked at the specs for my monitor (hansol 900p) and they look right. does anyone have any suggestions. i really don't want to run the windowmanager as root
also
i notice that i seem to have a backspace problem in some the insert vi mode
i can go into command mode, and i not only backspace, but i delete what i'm backsspacing over, but in insert mode, i can't backspace (and yes, I do know how to use vi and what the difference is between the modes)
Aaron
