MS marches on

Cc Samba Digest
   linux-config

Hi all

It is with great saddness and regret that I wish to inform you that due
to Windows 2000 issues with Samba, and being unable to connect, that I
have been told to abandon all further attempts and our Linux server is
to be converted to Windows 2000. I have tried everything that I know
for 2 days solid now, with no further success. I have been told not to
bother with any futher help calls. From what I can see, the problem is
at the Microsoft end, not the Samba end.

This now removes what is in my opinion a far superior OS from our site
and extends the march of Microsoft. I am - to say the least - not a
happy man. That leaves us with HP-UX - but that is being replaced with
Windows 2000 anyway as I write this.

I would like to thank each and every one of you that have assisted me
over the last 8 months in maintaining and setting up services. The
Linux server has been totally stable, never crashed and performed beyond
our expectations. I will continue to use Linux at home, and will
continue to promote it and the Open Source.

I shall continue contributing to the lists where I can.
