Minor clarification needed here.  Your Win2K server is most likely setup
with backward compatibility to allow for NT4 users.  If you install Win2K
without this backward compatibility Samba will no longer work.

This is not quit correct - Samba works with Windows 2000 and RH 6.xx and RH
7
You will not be able to use Samba as they DC - but normal file serving and
printing works fine.
I have 50 Windows 2000 users accessing shares on RH box.

My understanding is that Microsoft changed the APIs in Windows 2000,
rendering SAMBA incapable of connecting. This would make total sense if
SAMBA in RH6.X and RH7.0 were now disabled.

Leave it to Microsoft to change the standards without sharing its APIs.
So much for their commitment to "interoperability".  At Microsoft the word
"interoperability" means "migrate to Windows".
