MySQL Problem

Hello everybody
I had mailed long time back for the My sql problem on how to start my SQL
server.
I erceived this answer. I tried taht but waht i got on the screen is listed
in the mail below the mail by keane www com
Please Read on suggest me a solution so that ican get my mySQL up and
running.

su into your system, do /usr/local/bin/safe_mysqld
and that will get mysql server runs.
when you have done with that, just type mysql on your
console and will say something like
Welcome and blah blah blah ...

hello after doing the steps below
i go into /usr/local/bin/safe_mysqld
and run safe_mysqld i get the messages
///
starting mysqld daemon with databases from
/var/lib/mysql
mysql daemon ended
On looking into the .err file in the same dir
i have the following lsiting
mysql started on Sat Oct 7 19:06:07 IST 2000
/usr/sbin/mysqld: ready for connection
mysqld started on Sat Oct 7 19:07:07 IST 2000
001007 19:07:35 cant start server
Bind on TCP/IP port: Address already in use Do you
have another server already run
mysqld server running on port :330
aborting
mysqld ended on Sat oct 7 19:07 ist 2000
Please can any one on the list help me to get the
mysql server up and kicking
