Probably a WINS style name.

About your only hope is to use the Outlook Web Interface which has to be
enabled on your web server. Then you could use Netscape on you Linux machine
to do email.

You'll have to ask your IT folks if they have enables the 'OWA' and what the
web address of the server is.
