While I think Postgres is a fine database, I must protest to the language
used in the article quoted below:

     For a "NEAR PERFECT" system there must be only one system and
     everybody in the world must work on it!! Duplicate products cause
     more harm than good and hence division of resources must be
     strongly discouraged.

I think this is simply wrong.  Worse, I am particularly offended to see
such an opinion in Linux related documentation.  Of all people, Linux
users should know full well that code forks sometimes create new
products that eventually eclipse older software.  Not always, but most
today believe that competition is in everyone's best interests.

I know little about Postgres, but have heard many good things about it.
However, the attitude in this article seemed more at home in the MS SQL
manual than any open-source project.
