Are you running an http server ? When you installed RH6.2 you most likely
installed Apache but never configured it properly. Therefore on startup it's
not finding something it needs and it fails to start and give you the error
message. The files that need to be edited /configured are usually those in
"/etc/httpd/conf". Check the Apache documentation and edit the files
appropriatly. If you provide more details regarding the exact error message
that you receive upon startup then I might be able to tell what exactly
needs to be done.
Another point to consider is, do you need to run an http server. Unless you
are planning to serve web pages and provide web related services to other
clients either locally or over the Internet, then you probably don't need
it. If you are merely going to run a browser client, like Netscape, to
access the internet you most certainly don't need it in which case you can
probably just uninstall it.
You're also getting an error message on shutdown because the system is
attempting to shut down the apache daemon which is not running to begin with
because of the error occurring on startup.
