Oracle Install Voodoo

OK, I have the latest and greatest 8.1.6 Oracle...Unfortunately there
does not appear to be a humanly possible way to get it to install on
Redhat 6.2.  The Oracle install sucks...So, does anyone know the dead
chicken waving procedure to get Oracle to install?  I have already
exhausted every resource I could find on the web.  The workarounds for
8.1.5 do not work with 8.1.6.  I was able to get 8.1.5 installed using
these procedures except the listener wasn't working, so I figured I
would use the latest sanctioned version to get around that problem.  Am
I the only one who realizes that Oracle should install on Redhat out of
the box?
