"Amen, brother" to all of the above.  No matter HOW POLITELY you say it,
"RTFM" isn't a helpful answer if you don't (at least) also say which FM
to read -- and very often, not even then, because it just means going to
another FM, which in turn... well, you've been there, even if you've
forgotten, so please remember what it's like.
