ORACLE LISTENER won't start, pls help...

Hello all,

I'm sorry if this question is already posted before, but i could'n find in milist archive.

I have Oracle 8iR2 installed on RH 6.2 p333/128MB.
The installation (typical) runs fine, even when run dbassist) but when go to net8 setup it can't start the listener.

I can start the database and connect using sqlplus, but when starting listener, it (always) says:
--<cut>--
bash$ lsnrctl start LISTENER

LSNRCTL for Linux: Version 8.1.6.0.0 - Production on 23-SEP-2000 11:39:17

(c) Copyright 1998, 1999, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

Starting /home/oracle/8.1.6/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...

TNSLSNR for Linux: Version 8.1.6.0.0 - Production
System parameter file is /home/oracle/8.1.6/network/admin/listener.ora
Log messages written to /home/oracle/8.1.6/network/log/listener.log
Attempted to listen on: (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=EXTPROC)))
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener
 TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
  TNS-00511: No listener
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
---<cut>--

What could be wrong? I already install/reinstalled many times (maybe up to 11 times) and almost 1 month figthing this problem :(

ps:
Is there any mailing list about Oracle-redhat?
Thanks before.

Regards,

-budhi-
