RE: ORACLE LISTENER won't start, pls help...

This may be a silly question, but have you updated the listener.ora file?  I think it needs information about your system before it will run

I do reserve 1521 as the listener port in /etc/services, and i see that today apps seems to be prefer to start it directly not via inetd.

It's a Fresh RH 6.2 box with few "tuning" in startup service (remove 'unecessary service')
Networking is runs fine (eg. it can ping and resolve hostname/dns).


I've heard its dificult to install 8.1.5, lots of bugs and patches need to applies.
