floppy boot up failed

Hello 
I am trying to upgrade my home Compaq Presario 7599 from RedHat 6.2 to
RedHat 7.0. It won't boot up from the CD so  made a boot up disk. But after
I hit 'Enter' for OS installation/upgrade, it says "Loading..." and then
some like  "Loading failed; please insert a new disk". The same floppy loads
on an old 486 without any problem (no previous Linux on it though). 
Any clue ?
