RE: Version upgrade .. NOT REALLY!

Hi all,

Just got off a 1/2 hour conversation with RedHat re: upgrading
from 6.2 to 7.0 I was told by there support group that there
is NO UPGRADE from 6.2 to 7.0 except for the "base" system which
I could purchase for $29.00 or download from the internet BUT it
was ONLY the kernel. I was told that the only way to "upgrade"
both the kernel and the associated support programs with their
newer versions is to PURCHASE for $179.00 the complete package.
This was quite distressing :{ because we just purchased two
copies of 6.2 Professional, one within the last 30 days, directly
from Redhat. Gosh, is this shades of Microsoft's "just don't
care about customers, just send me your money" attitude creeping
into the Linux world??????

On a related note, I am fotunately on a fast network connection and and
upgrade via the network is not unthinkable for me. Is there anyway in
which I can upgrade without having to get an image burn it etc?

Thanks,
-Karthik.
