For those stuck on this list and can't get off, this won't work you all, but generally here is what I do when subscribing to lists....
My ISP, in addition to my POP3 acounts, allows the creation of web based only e-mail accounts. As far as I can tell, an unlimited number.
When I want to join a list, I create a web mail account for that list (hence turner_redhat for this list) for that list. If I can't get off the list, or it becomes spammed, I simply delete the account.
There are many web based e-mail services out there. Even Microsoft and hotmail are good for something. Perhaps those stuck could create a web account and persuade the list server to change their address.
