I saw your question on the RH-list about the kernel compilation, but i can\'t
reply to the lists (connection refused). If you looked around in RH7 you could
have seen that RH includes a package called kgcc(something). This is the
old version of gcc, the new version of gcc can *NOT* compile the kernel yet
(2.9x). So instead of using gcc to compile the kernel try kgcc, a collegue of
mine had the same error and the same fix helped.
(You can change the default compiler e.g by changing your environment or
changing the Makefile, etc.)
Please forward this mail to the RH-mailing list, so other people with the same
question are also helped, because I can\'t at the moment
