It is the name of Debians latest Linux distribution and the full
distribution comes on 6 cd's 3 data cd's plus 3 for the source.

It's extrememly good and has almost any utility you could wish, also you
can update the utilities using the apt-get command...in short it is the
best and leaves Redhat really begging...maybe thats why RH hurriedly had
to release there 7.0 but as you can see from the messages posted here RH
7.x is having many problems...and besides RH 7.x uses XFree86 4.0 which
also is relatively new and lacks support and drivers for a lot of video
cards.

So in short if you are interested in getting a easy to install and use
Linux with almost every utility you could wish for please go for Debians
potato.

I am sad to say that Redhat Software is fast becoming the Microsoft of the
Linux world......and that the RH linux sucks bigtime....I will be getting
my debian cd's tomorrow morning and the first thing I am going to do is to
copy my home directories and delete the RH partition and install debian
linux...but I will continue to stay on this newsgroup as many of the
queries here are not Redhat specific so that I can still help someone.

Well run XF86Setup and select "Multi frequency monitor which can do xxxx"
where xxxx is as close as possible to 1400*1050 at 60hz . Then you can
select the screen resolution that your monitor supports, ie click on
640*480, 800*600, and all other resolutions that you wish.

Then please you can test the screens pres CTRL-+ (ie CTRL key wioth the
keypad plus key) to increse the screen res and CTRL - (CRL with keypad
minus) to decrease the screen res...that way you can check the screens
out..
