This may be unpopular, but with the size of backup tapes now, which was the
primary reason for partitioning into separate filesystems, I can backup a
single root partition which holds my entire disk. So, I create a swap file
=> memory, then one filesystem with the rest of the disk and mount it on
root.
That way, you don't have to worry about running out of space on a given
filesystem. With the purpose you stated for this server, I honestly can't
think of any drawbacks.
