I've been using a Zoom 2919 (Rockwell) on Linux and it works fine.
I've heard that the prices have dropped quite a bit, $39 now, I believe.
Some people claim that the Zoom 2919 is not a good modem for Linux---don't
believe them, it's an excellent modem. Try to get one already configured
for .v90. I had to upgrade mine.
I'm running two modems in one computer, the Zoom 2919 on Linux and a Winmodem voice model for telephone use on Windows.. Zoom is on port 5 and the Winmodem is on port 2. The outputs are connected to a common line through an ordinary two line adapter.
