modules under 2.4.3

Hello list;
         I am running RH 7.0 and kernel 2.4.3. When I do 'sndconfig' I get the
message: "the module used for your card , emu10k1.o is not currently in your
module search path"

 Sure enough 'ls /lib/modules/2.4.3' is different than 'ls
/lib/modules/2.2.16-2'. There are two new directories in the tree.

/lib/modules/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emo10k1.o
/lib/modules/kernel/drivers/sound/sound.o
/lib/modules/kernel/drivers/sound/soundcore.o

The 'kernel/drivers' path is new.
I could not find any docs on the changes, or how to tell the kernel where to
find the modules. Should I just 'cp' them back up to /lib/modules/2.4.3/sound ?
or will this break something?.

Also I cannot remember where to edit the xterm attributes, light green on white
or worse yellow on white is awfull.
