getport(status): request from unauthorized host

Hi!
I see such

Apr 11 19:04:44 linux portmap[8628]: connect from 203.232.189.237 to
getport(status): request from unauthorized host

couple of them in my messages log every day.  I am not familiar
with portmap. I see it is in my ps -ax. If I kill this process
which program will be screwed up? If I cannot kill it, how can
I avoid these attack.
