Try 'rpm -ql proftpd | less' to get a list that should show you where
files are placed. There are others as weel and you might need to check
them (proftpd-standalone, proftpd-inetd, etc) to get what you're looking
for.
If you install something then try 'locate' it won't work. First you need
to 'updatedb' (as root) then you can try locate to find where things
went.
