problems with nic and dhcp.

Hello,
	I installed rh7 on my laptop via kickstart. In the %post section I have
mounted the floppy and manually copied over the necessary network files:
/etc/sysconfig/network and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0. My
nic is a xircom ce3b 10/100. The problem is the system boots, I get one
high pitched beep, about a minute later a lower pitched beep, and the nic
doesn't find the dhcp server. I was initially having problems with it
finding the dhcp server at all, but now if I log in as root and run pump
it seems to work. Has anything changed in rh7 that might account for this
behavior?
