Hello!
I have installed RH 6.2 on my master HDD and have
windows running on the slave. I had a problem with the cpuid which I have now
cured thanks to the support link on the red hat page, but now I have another
problem! When I come to the login window it is blank. Some scattered pixel lines
can be seen but that's about it. I presume that under all this is the login
screen.
My thoughts where that maybe I chose the wrong
resolution whilst installing, or I chose the wrong graphics card. Mine wasn't
listed (Hercules Geforce2 MX 64MB) so I chose a NVIDIA 256color Geforce 2
instead, (it seemed the most logical option). I did try testing the
configuration, but t crashed the installation. Has anybody else got this card or
had the same trouble when installing red hat?
I suppose the other thing it could be is the
resolution, but I used the details straight from the handbook.
Does anyone now a way of altering the installation
preferences (resolution, graphics card selection etc) from the lilo boot prompt
or is it a case of start again??
