Re: Installation woes!

Hello!

I've tried using the Xconfigurator to reconfigure my preferences, but no
joy. I can't get anything visible with the 'probe' options in Xonfigurator,
or at the end of the setup when it shows your configuration. I noticed
something to do with 'nolinear','Ramdac' and 'Chipclock' (or something like
that!). I also attempted to alter the lilo.conf file with:

append="x86_serial_nr=1"

to stop the kernel from hanging on boot. When running 'lilo -v -v' as root
it came up with a syntax. I've tried removing the double quotes as well as
moving the line further up the file, but with no joy. Any ideas?! I seem to
have an ever growing command line from lilo:

linux x86_serial_nr=1 init 3

Seems a little over the top!!!

Please someone help. I've really run out of ideas. It doesn't seem to meke
any difference what settings I use from Xconfigurator, I have even tried
using basic resolutions, non listed graphics boards, but to no avail!

Help!

Cheers

Simon
