Problems with Xircom card

It took me a while to get my Xircom card working but I do have one last
problem.
At bootup I get the error that eth0 failed to start (Apr 19 17:58:02
localhost ifup: Delaying eth0 initialization.
Apr 19 17:58:02 localhost network: Bringing up interface eth0: failed
Apr 19 17:58:06 localhost pcmcia: cardmgr.
Apr 19 17:58:06 localhost rc: Starting pcmcia: succeeded)
Is it supposed to be like that (Network starts before the pcmia service)?
