Well, if you have another box, then you can make a boot disk and rescue disk
on floppies.  You'll just need to login to a working box and have a couple
floppies ready.  You can use mkbootdisk to make a boot disk, type man
mkbootdisk to see its parameters.  To get a rescue disk, you will probably
have to go to redhat.com and download a the rescue.img file.  Unless you can
get access to it from a saved copy or a friends cd.  You can then use this
command to put it on the floppy:

cat rescue.img >> /dev/fd0

Once you have both disks, just boot off the boot disk and type in rescue at
the prompt.  It will then ask you for the rescue disk and then will boot
into rescue mode.  If worst comes to worst, let me know and I can email you
the image files I have here.  Hope this helps.
