Your NT must have a login that matches the netbios name it broadcasts. I
have a client that I couldn't get NT and Samba to talk. Once the NT had a
user added with the same name as the netbios, it came right up. Of course, I
had all the PCs on the network talking already so knew Samba wasn't the
issue.
