newbie, 2 ethernet cards

Hi,

I am completely new in the area. I want to install
RH 7.2, have 2 ethernet cards (one to cable modem,
one to internal network); the instalation duly finds
the two cards, numbers them 0 and 1. Which is
which (which should I configure this or that way)?
