I've determined the error of my approach since this message. What I was
overlooking was the fact that I didn't have enough primary partitions
available for my approach. We overcame this by placing the free space into
and extended partition and creating a logical partition with the ext2
filesystem. This large area was given the '/' mount point. We then
decreased the size of the 1st primary partition by 10Megs and created a
small ext2 partition with a /boot mount point.

Well after all this work we began the installation again and were able to
get the point where the formatting of the partitions began. That's when
the PC went on its merry way and never came back. The HD activity light
goes on and off. We allowed this to continue for about a half hour just to
see if it would come back to begin the install. Nope! It never did.

One other thing was we conducted our install as an 'expert text'. This
required us to manually pick the correct SCSI adapter. Still this didn't
help.

I'm really stumped on this one and I'm open for any suggestions. The lab
technician is going to try this again on a clean SCSI drive to see if this
overcomes our problems but I'm open to any ideas anyone might have.

Thanks in advance,
 Art
