Delete the whole directory structure in /lib/modules/<kernel_version> and
then run "make modules" and "make modules_install"
That should do it.

Subject: ne.0 module
Hi everyone
Small problem after compiling a new kernal. I am running RH 6.2. and have
just compiled kernal 2.2.18. I have a couple of problems, but I will only
bore you with the one of them. I have 2 network cards, 1 PCI, & 1 ISA card.
The PCI card loads ok, but the ISA card refuses to load. I can load both
kernals through lilo (thank God for dual configuation) and my old kenal is
ok. All the irqs & io's are set them same for both Kernals. When I do
"modprobe ne.o" RH reports the "ne.o module is loaded but adds a note that "
ne.0 module in /etc/conf.mod is more recent than in
/lib/module/2.2.18/module.dep." All the entries in conf.mod seem just to be
aliases. Is the away to update the module.dep file?
Many thanks
Ross
