I need some help with PCMCIA cards in RH 7.0. I just scored a Micron
Transport XKE laptop and decided to give Linux a try on a laptop. I have a
few PCs running linux, but this is my first laptop. I've got it installed
and after tweeking X a little I even have X running. However, the problem
I'm having is getting the networking to work. I have a Megahertz XJ10BT card
in the machine. I ran linuxconf and configured adapter1 as eth0 and used the
'smc91c92_cs' kernel module (I got this from several web pages that said
this was the correct driver.) However, when the machine boots it fails to
load eth0.
Is that the correct driver for this card? What else am I missing? I have
done nothing more than install the linux and this machine and modify the
parameters for eth0. Do I have to modify the kernel (I hope not, never done
it before)? Is there something else that has to be loaded or started inorder
for the pcmcia cards to work - card services???
Thanks for your help.
Brian
