I am trying to install RH6.0 on an HP NetServer LPr (512Mb, NetRAID1Si,
2x800MHz) in order to test the upgrade of the kernel to 2.2.17-14enterprise.
I have 5 RH6.0 servers in service on a live web site that need the upgrade,
and I want to test on an "expendable" server first. I already "hosed" one
of them by trying a remote upgrade. Everything worked fine until the
reboot,
which failed with a kernel panic on its way back up.
Anyway...
The problem is that while performing a "Bad block check" on the swap
partition (/dev/sda7), the install fails with a panic message and red screen
as follows:

you may safely reboot your system
This error condition is reproducable. I have tried swaping RAM. I have not
tried a different server, or NetRAID card.
Can anyone make any sense of this? Do you have any ideas?
Again, it occurs during the format of the swap partition. I had a similar
error when I don't tell anaconda to format the swap, but it happens while
copying the packages to disk.
I have reinitialized the the NetRAID card, it has the latest BIOS, and I
have even done a low level format of both disks in the RAID group.
I'm at a loss, please assist if able...
