Re: not able to login as root



hmmm, this may be be because the gnome configurations are a bit messed up.
Not really sure if you mean that gnome tries it (as in tries to log in, but
can't, or just will not even try log in). If it tries but is unfuccessfull,
then I suggest you log in as root in the console, and remove the
/root/.gnome folder. This will mean that the next time you log in as root
all default settings will be reapplied. Another solution is to hold down I
believe SHIFT after typing in your login, then then pressing shift... this
should reset gnome settings for root.
