We
built a RedHat 6.2 server with RAID support during the
install. All values are RAID enabled including boot: major minor #blocks name 8 0 17782540 sda 8 1 16065 sda1 8 2
1 sda2 8 3 8001 sda3 8 5 15085003 sda5 8 6 2104483 sda6 8 7 530113 sda7 8 0 17782540 sdb 8 1 16065 sdb1 8 2

drive died and was replaced last week. However after rebuilding all of the raid
volumes and reattaching them to the raid via raidhotadd
we have found that the new hard drive won’t boot the server. We’ve
tested by taking the ‘old’ working drive out of the server and
rebooted with the newly build RAID drive. It wouldn’t do anything past
post except inform us that an OS was missing. Anyone
know how I can fix this? Thanx in advance. |
