This isn't exactly
an installation question but since I'm such an extreme newbie this is probably
the best list.
I've had RH7.1
installed for a few weeks. I rebooted my machine today after it had been
up for about a week and it can't seem to get into xwindows. It goes
through the normal startup stuff with lots of green OK's and then the screen
goes black. At first it would come to a text mode logon prompt if I
moved the mouse but would go back to the black screen in a few seconds.
Since then I did a totally cold boot and now I don't even get the text logon
prompt. It does seem to be doing something because the screen will
alternate between a very dark blue and black when I move the
mouse.
Can someone give me
some direction on how to troubleshoot
this?
