does anyone know the install procedure for postgres on redhat?

It's completely different from the standard postgres install.  There's no
usr/local/postgres/ folder created.  Instead, the bins are distributed all
over the place.  Hence the docs provided by postgres are worthless.

Does anyone know how to add users to postgres?  I added one per the install
that forces me to su - postgres from the root login.  That's the only way to
access postgres.  So how do I add other users?  Like the other 'real' users
of the system?  Any help would be appreciated....
